Last week I had the pleasure of visiting St Aidan’s School as they marked UK Parliament Week!
The pupils hosted a very serious Question Time-style debate on whether 16-year-olds should have the right to vote and there were incredibly strong arguments made on both sides.
The whole school then headed to the polls, voting in realistic voting booths to experience democracy in action. I was so impressed by the level of interest and engagement shown by every year group!
A huge thank you to the incredible teachers and staff who put so much effort into making the day such a success.
It’s always a joy to visit St Aidan’s, and I left feeling very optimistic about the next generation of voters and leaders!
