Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Blackpool Council are inviting you to take part in a survey to help shape future plans for cycling and walking networks.
Following feedback from their initial public engagement last year, the councils have produced a draft network map of cycling and walking networks routes in Lancashire. They need people from all areas of the county to provide feedback on anything you think could be improved. The survey will be available on their website until 24 October 2023.
Their aim is to join up the gaps in our existing network of footpaths and cycle routes and provide safer, direct and more convenient routes.
Now more than ever it’s important that we move away from our reliance on private cars and look at ways of improving our public transport and active travel offer. Ever since I was first elected, I have been pushing for better cycling infrastructure in Lancaster and across our rural communities in Wyre.
As has been demonstrated time and time again, with the right infrastructure in place people will use it. While I believe more needs to be done to enhance Lancashire’s active travel offer, this is certainly a step in the right direction and I applaud Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Transport for making this first step.
We have got a long way to go in making our transport infrastructure work for everyone and this is one way to get your voice heard on how this should be achieved. I would urge you all to take part by clicking here.
